Ashlyn Leath, a senior at Clovis North High in California, secured sixth place in the girls championship race at the CHAMPS Sports West Regional at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut. Leath covered the 5-kilometer layout in 18:29 to become the first athlete in program history to advance to the CHAMPS Sports national final. Leath is scheduled to race Dec. 10 at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego.
